Questions & Answers

Q:
How do these allergy drops work?
A:
While medications put a stop to allergy symptoms, they are only a short-term fix. The lasting solution to allergies is to treat the source of the problem through a process called desensitization. The drops contain extracts of the dusts, molds, pollens, and pet dander that give you the most problems and when placed under your tongue, they absorb into your bloodstream. As you take the allergy drops in gradually increasing concentrations, your immune system learns to make “peace” or deal with the allergens over time, bringing an end to troubling allergy symptoms.
Q:
How long until I feel better?
A:
The vast majority of the allergy drop patients experienced marked symptom relief within the first months of treatment. Allergy shots can take up to two years to produce results.
Q:
Are there any risks or side effects to the drops?
A:
Oral allergy drops are extremely safe and have never been associated with any serious health risks. In fact, they are safer than allergy shots, which carry a risk of life-threatening anaphylactic reaction.
Q:
Are these oral drops scientifically proven?
A:
Yes! Clinical studies show that more than 80 percent of allergic patients and more than 90 percent of asthmatics report symptom relief within the first few months of using the drops.
Q:
Does the serum interfere with any medication, or does any medication interfere with the serum?
A:
No on both counts. The serum is completely inert and has no interaction with anything. Because it is an all-natural product, it will not interfere with any other medications a patient may be taking.
Q:
What does the serum taste like?
A:
The liquid has a slight taste, similar to a diluted Chloraspetic, but not enough to be bothersome. Most patients, even young children are unfazed by the taste of the serum.
Q:
When was sublingual immunotherapy (under-the-tongue serum drops) developed?
A:
Sublingual immunotherapy was developed over 60 years ago. This treatment is widely used around the world and is especially popular in Europe where more than 50 percent of patients receiving allergy treatment use drops rather than shots.
Q:
I’m going on vacation. Can I take the serum with me?
A:
This is what makes the drops so revolutionary: The serum travels with you! Frequent flyers love this treatment, because vocation would make injection allergy treatment impossible. All of the serum bottles are under three ounces, making them perfect for travelers and because they only require room temperature storage, they are fine for the duration of your trip.
Q:
Will insurance companies reimburse me for the treatment?
A:
Most insurance plans do reimburse for the cost of allergy testing.* The actual sublingual serum (allergy drops) is not widely reimbursed. However, it is likely that it will be in the near future. In the meantime, most patients find that it is cheaper to pay cash for the allergy drops, rather than to pay the actual co-pays for allergy shots. Additionally, not having to drive to frequent doctor’s appointments for shots is an added time and money saver.

*This is not guaranteed. It is a patient’s responsibility to contact their own individual insurance provider to see if they will reimburse for testing and/or the serum. Additionally, we do not submit any claims. We can provide you with an insurance receipt/statement for you to submit.
Q:
I’m moving. Will the serum still protect me in a new place with different allergy sources?
A:
Yes! The drops are extremely comprehensive and specifically designed to protect you from the most common allergens found around the world. So whether you live in Arizona or New York, London or Sydney, you can expect full allergy protection.
Q:
What if I'm pregnant? Can I still take the allergy drops?
A:
Since the drops are all-natural (made up of the same things you breathe in when you are outside), they pose no risks to pregnant women or their unborn babies. The serum is also safe for nursing mothers.
Q:
Are there any health conditions that would prohibit me from taking the allergy serum?
A:
No. Because the drops are an all-natural extract of the antigens in the environment that you encounter on a daily basis, there are virtually no risks or contraindications associated with the serum.
Q:
How do I get started on the treatment?
